Indirections is a series of image-text pamphlets that focus on the manoeuvring involved when ideas are presented to the public eye with the aim of persuasion. Whether we look at Soviet propaganda or at minor deceits in the local newspaper: things are bent, spun and twisted.
The series presents found image-and-caption combinations from books, leaflets and newspapers. Each item in the series is a folded sheet containing a single found image with its caption. The caption is on the front, the image is hidden inside. By uncoupling them, the two elements are each given their own stage – as a result a new space opens up between them. In that space a small tragicomedy is played out. It appears that at times images can be a bit stubborn and reveal slightly different truths from the ones implied by the words coupled to them. ...

The origin of this work of self-fiction can be found in one of São Trindade’s sketchbooks, this one entirely devoted to the subject of loss or decadence. With references to the aesthetics of crime scenes and nightlife photographed by Weegee in New York in the 1930 and 1940’s, the device is simple: in a "real décor," São Trindade’s body, abandonned and unconscious, is photographed. The body is always the same but differently ‘prepared’ and ‘composed’ with new dresses, new gestures, new signs of a recent activity or a different personality. Each image has its particular story and each space is a sounding board for each of these performative states of body.

Während der Vorbereitung zu seiner Ausstellung "Històrie(s) d'Arxiu" fand Pere Noguera zahlreiche Schwarz-Weiß Fotografien aus den Medien, die er in den 70er und 80er Jahren gesammelt hat. Mit der Absicht diese Fotografien zu archivieren und diese rein als Sammlung ohne einen Kontext auszustellen, druckt er das Buch Portrait-Robot. So besteht das Buch aus diversen Fotografien, die lediglich aufgrund des Abgebildeten kontextualisiert werden können, untereinander aber nicht in Bezug zueinander stehen, es geht als rein um " the representation of the image".

The found source material is reimagined and made vivid through colour and through the intensity of the worked picture surface. She is presently working on paintings that derive from a composite astronomical image created by data from the Hubble Space Telescope.
