For Comma 38, artist and publisher Arnaud Desjardin will exhibit new, old, rare, and popular books while running an active printing press in Bloomberg Space. His COMMA commission, part of an ongoing project titled The Book on Books on Artists' Books, is intended to create an active and participatory review of current and historical practice. This exhibition is about both the display of books on artists' books and the production of a book about the books displayed. He intends to print a first edition, a book of books, a critical anthology and source book, alongside which a large range of books on artists' books will be displayed in a series of vitrines.
Artists' books have normally been sold and distributed through small networks of bookshops and galleries that often produce lists of available titles in printed form. The advent of the Internet has meant that information online has changed the nature of this documentary evidence. Desjardin's unique and extraordinary combination of display and production makes an exhibition that actively engages in both the making and disseminating in real time. The books themselves become both vehicles for information and documents that testify for artistic activity in its own right

Der 1985 in Hamburg geborene Künstler Julian Turner ist der zweite Preisträger des Kapsch Contemporary Art Prize, einer Auszeichnung zur Förderung junger Künstler_innen mit Lebensmittelpunkt in Österreich, die erstmals 2016 von der Kapsch Group gemeinsam mit dem mumok ausgelobt wurde. „Geplante Imperfektion“ durchdringt die multimedialen Arbeiten Turners, in denen er Konventionen des Kunstbetriebes zitiert und humorvoll infrage stellt. Mit seiner Bar du Bois – einem Hybrid aus Ausstellungsraum, funktioneller Bar und kollaborativem Kunstprojekt – hat der Künstler ein sich immer weiter entwickelndes Format kreiert, das eine soziale Unterwanderung des Ausstellungsraums unternimmt.
Für seine erste museale Einzelausstellung warum nicht beschäftigt sich Turner mit dem Begriff des Displays, musealen und nicht musealen Präsentationsformen, sowie mit unterschiedlichsten Sammlungsprozessen: Wie sammeln wir, was sammeln wir und warum sammeln wir? Oder warum eigentlich nicht? Wie stellen wir eben jene Sammlungen aus? Oder warum nicht? Die unsichtbare Imperfektion steht im Mittelpunkt. Der Prozess wird zum ausgestellten Objekt.

The record was published by sinnbus records in 2010.
In the process of drawing and designing the cover a small book emerged and was meant to be published and shared with the world.
´LOVE´ is a selection of drawings on found footage photographs by the artist Stephane Leonard and those drawings processed and edited by the designer Martin Eichhorn.
The first half of the book is dedicated to all the drawings and the second half to various layout sketches and experiments for the artwork of the swedish band Alarma Man´s 2010 record LOVE FOREVER. The photographs display different stages within relationsships - from childhood to marriage to death. Leonard´s drawings and drawn words react and interact with the photos scratching off the obvious, exposing invisible emotional aspects of the scene

if, then, else: wenn dann sonst <…>. if, then, else definiert ein Repertoire an Methoden und Phasen: recording, drafting und scripting, setting, inviting, editing, publishing und reviewing. Als Werkstatt, Installation, Display, Schaufenster, Treffpunkt, Redaktion und Forschungsfeld tritt der Raum selbst als Ausgangspunkt in Erscheinung: für das Beobachten und Beobachtet Werden, als temporärer Denk-, Arbeits- und Projektionsraum. Die Bedingungen als Raum und Ort werden in Verbindung mit und in (s)einer Öffentlichkeit befragt, gezeigt, form(at)iert und regelmässig veröffentlicht: online und in situ. This project looks at the poster campaigns of the 2007 French presidential elections, attempting to reveal what lies behind the semiotic construction of the messages. In the 10 days between the 2 rounds of the elections, Waeckerle took close up photographs of the 12 posters displayed in every town square in France, ending up with around 60 fragments of smiles, eyes, slogans and textures. These deconstructions display new banners, political candidates, and slogans in this artists' book.

As a pioneer in the field of Media Arts research, the ARCHIVE OF DIGITAL ART (ADA) documents the rapidly evolving field of digital installation art for more than a decade now. This complex, research-oriented overview of works at the intersection of art, science, and technology has been developed in cooperation with international media artists, researchers and institutions, as a collective project.
Since todays digital artworks are processual, ephemeral, interactive, multimedia-based, and fundamentally context dependent, because of their different structure, they require a modified, we called it an ‚expanded concept of documentation‘. ADA represents the scientific selection of 500 international artists of approx. 5.000 evaluated artists. We ascribe high importance to artistic inventions like innovative interfaces, displays or software.
